This is a plan for you to discover the craftwork technique of Hakata and use it yourself!
You will learn about “Hakata-ori”: a beautiful and firm cloth made in Hakata, and “Hakata Ningyo”: a doll with various color, shape, and face made in Hakata.
First, you will visit a traditional Japanese house where a craftsman makes Hakata-ori cloth with a weaving machine.
You may make one yourself if you are lucky!
There is a shop in a local shopping street that deals with Hakata Ningyo and Kimon made from Hakata-ori, which would be a perfect place to buy your souvenir!
There is also a place where you are going to paint on a Hakata Ningyo!
