The Futamigaura area on the Itoshima Peninsula has so much to see from beautiful seaside landscapes, fantastic sunsets to stylish cafes. Therefore, the “Fukuoka East & West Coast Project” which aims to further enhance the attractiveness of the seaside areas in Fukuoka City, has been working with local private businesses to design e-bike (electric-assisted sports bicycle) tourism which can solve traffic problems and promote round-trip sightseeing in the area.

E-Bikes are bicycles that combine the riding performance of a sports cycle with the electric-assisted function, and have been attracting attention in recent years. This time, a private operator has started lending out the Turbo series from Specialized, the American brand well-known to bicycle enthusiasts. This stylishly designed e-bike does not look like it is equipped with electric power assistance at first glance. It can travel up to 130km on a three-hour charge and can even travel around the Itoshima Peninsula. With an assist function of up to 24km/h, the bike can be ridden with ease even on mountain roads.

The e-bike rental service is available at the following two locations for those who drive to the Futamigaura area and who come by public transport.
