Funa norikomi is the traditional event of kabuki stars unveiling their arrival at the “local destination” while boarding on boats.

In Hakata (Fukuoka) ,  after the boarding ceremony at Canal City Hakata, performers of “June Grand Kabuki at Hakata-za” will board the boats from Seiryu Park, deliver a speech in front of Kawabata Zenzai Hiroba, and slowly parade down Hakata River towards Hakata Riverain.

Along the distance of 800 meters from Seiryu Park to Hakata Riverain, cheer on the event by shouting “xxx-ya～!”, and so on.
