Transportation Information

The city center can be directly accessed from Fukuoka airport by subway. There is also over 1,300 buses are running in the city, the highest number in Japan. Indeed, the bus and subway are the most popular forms of transportation in Fukuoka, there is even a 100yen loop bus running between the Hakata and Tenjin area. There can be a lot of traffic in the downtown area though, so if you are short on time, taking the subway is more convenient. You can enjoy several cruising tours in the city. Why not visit Uminonakamichi or Shikanoshima Island by boat and enjoy the resort feel. Traveling around the town by Velotaxi for two is also recommended.
