City with Beautiful Sea

The city of Fukuoka is curved along Hakata Bay. The beach is within a short distance of the downtown area and there are many parks and other spots where you can feel the sea breeze. Fukuoka is one of the most exciting marine cities in Japan, where you can enjoy marine sports and fabulous seafood cuisine.
In Shikanoshima, the east part of the city, you can enjoy fresh seafood, surfing and sea bathing. At Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, located in the narrow tombolo land area connecting the downtown area and Shikanoshima island, you can enjoy seasonal flowers and feel the fresh ocean breeze. Here you can also visit Marine World Uminonakamichi and meet with dolphins and sea otters.
In the east side of the city, the beautiful sea and the cityscape harmonize in Momochi Seaside Park, which is a perfect spot when you feel like strolling along the beach.
Nokonoshima island is located just 30 minutes by ferry from the downtown area. This is another spot where you can enjoy the sea, seasonal flowers, marine sports and fantastic seafood cuisine.
