The average temperature in Fukuoka ranges from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius (41 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit) in winter and 25 to 30 degrees Celsius (77 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit) in summer. Rainfall is heaviest in June and July, with downpours quite common. Typhoons occur in late summer, especially September. If visiting in summer, it is important to be prepared for hot weather and the equal possibility of strong sunshine or rain.
