This festival was started to vitalize the Nakasu area. The highlight of the Nakasu Matsuri is Kunihiro Onnashu Mikoshi, the march of portable shrine carried by girls travelling through the city. On the special stage are held some events such as the beauty contest of the girls and ladies working at hostess bars of Nakasu. The festival site is filled with excitement created bythose girls and ladies. This is also a happy season for customers of those bars in Nakasu because many of them set the prices lower than usual!
