Summary
Exterior Appearance
The museum is located in the Higashi Park where the Fukuoka prefectural office building is. Exhibiting historical materials are related to the battle of Bun-ei and Koan invasions of northern part of Kyushu by Mongolian army 800 years ago. Weapons from the Japanese and Mongolian armies and Mongolian armor suit made with hardened animal skin are exhibited. Such informative materials such as differing shields compare and contrast the cultural differences between the countries. There are also pictures of Mongolian invasion by Yada Issho, the oil painter of Meiji period, and swords and harquebuses from the Edo-period.
