From Fukuoka Kuko(airport)station it takes 5 minutes to Hakata station, and 11 minutes to Tenjin station. The subway runs every 3‒6 minutes during rush‒hour and 6‒8 minutes during the day.

Bus(Local Bus)
Local buses mainly arrive and depart from Hakata Kotsu Center (Hakata station bus terminal) and Tenjin Bus Center. Nishitetsu Bus’s “Canal City Line Bus” runs between Hakata, Canal City Hakata and Tenjin is also convenient for sightseeing. There is a direct bus to the shopping mall “Marinoa City” in Nishi ward and Seaside Momochi.

Limited express and Shinkansen trains connecting major cities in Kyushu travel to and from Hakata station, Kyushu’s largest and busiest station.
Nishitetsu Train
Nishitetsu Fukuoka(Tenjin)station is located in Tenjin, you can take both local and limited express trains for ordinary fare. The train is directly connected to Dazaifu, making it very convenient for sightseeing.

Sea Routes(Ferry)
You can go to Uminonakamichi and Shikanoshima Island by road, but we would recommend you to go by ferry. The ferry ride is a short 15 minutes and the terminals are conveniently located in Marizon(Seaside Momochi)and Bayside Place Hakata Futoh.
Taxi
The basic fare for a standard taxi within the city is 570 yen. Premium taxis, which offer higher quality service than standard taxis, have a Hakata-ori design that conveys the culture of Fukuoka and its spirit of hospitality.
There are also many sightseeing taxis that offer tours of points of interest in small groups. Also recommended is the “Ramen Taxi,” a unique way to enjoy ramen restaurants in Fukuoka.
Fukuoka Urban Expressway
If you would like to enjoy sightseeing in Fukuoka by rental car, Fukuoka Urban Expressway is your best choice, which runs throughout Fukuoka City and its surrounding areas.
There are 38 toll gates along the expressway and you can easily access various tourist destinations.
The cash toll for standard-sized vehicles is 630 yen regardless of distance travelled. With an ETC card, you can get discounts for drives during specified time periods or days of week. (payment in advance)
